Peter Basile Attains the Rank of Eagle Scout
Town of Schodack Resolution 2021-162
WHEREAS, Peter Basile, son of Andrew and Lynn, on the 20th of March in the year two thousand twenty-one, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout with Bronze palms, the highest rank a boy can achieve in scouting; and
WHEREAS, Peter started his journey in scouting as a Cub Scout with Pack 253, and earned Arrow of Light, and
WHEREAS, Peter is a member of Boy Scout Troop 53, and has earned 28 Merit Badges in his 7 years of Boy Scouting, and
WHEREAS, Peter is an Ordeal member of Kittan Lodge 364 of the Order of the Arrow, and
WHEREAS, Peter has served the troop as Troop Guide, Patrol Leader, and Senior Patrol Leader, and
WHEREAS, as his Eagle Scout project, Peter with the assistance of other Scouts, Scout leaders, family, and friends, repurposed a fire pit by turning it into a table and four benches that were placed around it to be used by religion classes and church groups for outside activities, and
WHEREAS, Peter is a Senior at Maple Hill High School, where he is a member of the Indoor Track, Outdoor Track and Cross Country Teams, and
WHEREAS, Peter will attend SUNY Plattsburgh in the Fall, where he received the Academic Excellence Scholarship and plans to study Ecology, and be a member of the Cross Country Team. award, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Schodack commends and congratulates Peter Basile upon the auspicious occasion of being awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, Boy Scouts of America; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Supervisor Harris will transmit a copy of this resolution, suitably engrossed to Peter Basile at his Court of Honor on July 18, 2021.
