Ciaran Sweet Attains the Rank of Eagle Scout
Town of Schodack Resolution 2024-119
WHEREAS, Ciaran R. Sweet, son of Kevin R. Sweet and Michele Guy, on the 18th of September in the year two thousand twenty-three, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank a boy can achieve in scouting; and
WHEREAS, Ciaran started his journey in scouting in 2016, with Troop 53, and
WHEREAS, Ciaran is a member of Boy Scout Troop 53, and has earned 28 Merit Badges in his 7 years of Boy Scouting, and
WHEREAS, Ciaran has served the troop as Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, Scribe, and Instructor.
WHEREAS, as his Eagle Scout project, Ciaran with the assistance of other Scouts, Scout leaders, and family and friends, cleaned headstones, cataloged all veterans, and raised military foot markers at Horizon View Cemetery, in Castleton, New York, and
WHEREAS, Ciaran an honors graduate of Maple Hill High School, a past member of MHHS Key Club, and currently attending Hudson Valley Community College as a member of the Honors College, studying computer information systems, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Schodack commends and congratulates Ciaran R. Sweet upon the auspicious occasion of being awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, Boy Scouts of America; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Supervisor Peter will transmit a copy of this resolution, suitably engrossed to Ciaran R. Sweet. 5 Ayes 0 Noes. MOTION CARRIED. Ayes – J. Bult, M. Kenney, S. Swartz, S. Haller, C. Peter. Noes – 0.
